Water Rates

Every year, the District evaluates our rates to ensure they are fair and reasonable and conform to the law. We work hard to ensure the rates are as low possible for our customers. The current residential, commercial and agricultural water rates are in effect through June 2024. Print the 2023-2024 water rates and fees.

Water rates, the price a customer pays per volume of water consumed, covers the cost of producing the water, and varies by customer type (residential, commercial, and agricultural) and pressure zone as shown in the tables below. See the legend at the bottom of the page for additional definitions.

Agricultural/Irrigation Water Rates

All Type II Irrigation accounts with at least one dwelling unit will be assessed a monthly Residential Equivalency Charge (REQ) per dwelling unit and a monthly CIP charge equivalent to the 5-year average single family residential usage.

  3. PEAK = all consumption in excess of BASE by Commercial, Industrial, and Public Authority account/dwelling unit.
  4. Agricultural customers with residential units pay a Residential Equivalency fee that covers drinking water treatment related costs.
  5. Variable and fixed drought rates recover costs associated with shortage declarations including revenue losses from demand reduction, costs from variable State Water deliveries, costs associated with the Lake Cachuma Pipeline Project, and costs associated with supplemental water purchases.
