Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA)

Carpinteria Groundwater Basin has been designated a high priority basin under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). The new priority means that the Carpinteria Groundwater Basin will need to comply with certain requirements established under SGMA including formation of a Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) and development of a Groundwater Sustainability Plan.
